| Parish: only enter parishes in this column; particularly important for more common place names, e.g. "Kincardine" in Scotland. This will normally be the parish where the family worshipped and the relevant records are to be found, not necessarily where the family lived. If you do wish to give a place of residence, use the next column. | |
| Place: use for recording places of residence and places within Parishes. | |
| County and Country: USE THE CODES GIVEN HERE. | |
| Period: always enter both a start and finish date for your search period. If necessary, it is better if you estimate the range in which you are interested. | |
