General Data Protection Regulations - Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy sets out what information we hold on members and how it is used and stored.

We are very careful to protect your privacy and confidentiality and your information will never be
passed to a third party without your permission.

The personal data we collect on members includes name, address, phone number and email
address where provided by the member.

We do not keep any records of credit or debit card details used to purchase publications or other
merchandise from CSFHS.

The data we collect is held on a secure computer database. By submitting your personal data,
you agree to CSFHS storing and using this information to provide services to members.

We will only use this data to fulfil sales of CDs and publications sales, to send out our
Newsletters and to process and renew membership subscriptions.

Your phone number will only be used to notify you of the cancellation of a meeting or
event you are likely to attend.

Your email address is used to send up to two reminders for overdue subscriptions.

Articles submitted to the Newsletters for publication will include your name and membership number.

CSFHS will use your name and address to send out our Newsletters or your email address
if you have chosen to receive the Newsletters electronically.

Your name and address is also used when permission has been given to claim Gift Aid from
HM Revenue & Customs.

Where you have been given a password to enable you to access the Members Only area
of our website,
you are responsible for keeping the password confidential.

Completion of a Members’ Interests form is taken as proof of permission to put members
in touch with others listed in the
Members’ Interests database who share the same specified
research interests when a specific request to do so is received.

CSFHS will keep your information while you are a member of the Society and for up to
three years following any non-renewal of subscription.
This is because members sometimes
request rejoining the Society after a short break and wish to keep their original membership numbers.

All information held on a member can be provided to that member at any time by contacting
the Secretary
and this information can be amended by you at any time.

This Privacy Policy was last updated on 14th April 2019.
